I love my new Wacom Intuos Pro small-sized tablet. I do not like to admit this, but I purchased the Intuos Pro large-sized tablet first, and I never used it because it was too big. It took me months to decide that it was just not going to work for me. The larger size was not a comfortable solution.
Learning to use this tablet takes focus and dedication. I still put my hands on the computer keyboard often out of habit even though the tablet is powerful enough to provide a faster and easier solution for what I am attempting to do. The Wacom tablet is intimidating, and it does require programming of buttons.
In order to become Wacom proficient, I studied various sources. I took an instructor-led class on the basic functions from Capital Photography Center. I watched YouTube for hours, and I watched a CreativeLive online course taught by Jared Platt.
Overcoming button programming is the key to success with this tablet. Once you master this, you realize how powerful this tablet is. Now, I use it every time I am working in Lightroom or Photoshop. The traditional mouse is no more for me.
In conclusion, this is not an out-of-the-box solution. You have to put some effort into learning this tablet. Little by little, the Wacom tablet will grow on you. I am still a newbie, and I have much to learn. But, this device has become my most important tool for working with images.
This tablet is a must if you are serious about editing images. I hope you will share your experience with the Wacom tablet.
